Interprofessional Learning Experiences for Healthcare Students
The Weekend Australian (20-21 February 2010) contained an excellent article by Margo Brewer, Director of Interprofessional Practice at the faculty of health sciences at Curtin University of Technology.
This article outlined a concept of 'allowing final-year students from health professions to develop an understanding of interprofessional issues in patient admission, care and discharge.'
The article outlines the experiences and benefits of this approach for students, staff and patients. Feedback from students, staff and patients about this approach has been overwhelmingly positive.
